The Irish Patents Office site provides information in relation to the registration of patents and trade marks. You will find general information regarding trade marks and the process involved in their registration. You can also conduct an online search as to the availability of a proposed trade mark in order to establish whether there is or may be a prior conflicting trade mark.

The Revenue Commissioners site is a very useful guide to the various taxes in force such as capital acquisitions tax, capital gains tax, VAT and stamp duty, and the relief that may apply in each case, for example agricultural relief and business relief. You will find detailed information in relation to first-time buyers and in particular the criteria used to determine first-time buyer status.

The Property Registration Authority manages and controls the Registry of Deeds and the Land Registry. There are two separate systems for recording transactions in relation to property in Ireland; one is operated by the Land Registry and the other by the Registry of Deeds. This site provides more detailed information concerning each system and it includes a useful section on the process involved in purchasing ground rents.

This is the website of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, Alicante, Spain and it provides information in relation to the registration of Community Trade Marks and Community Designs. In particular it establishes what is involved in the registration of a Community Trade Mark and it allows for online filing of such applications. It is also possible to search online for registered and pending trade marks.
